For more than forty years, Barbara  DeVorzon has held true to a passion and aesthetic honed when she was art major at UCLA.   As a young single mother, DeVorzon opened her first exhibition space on “Gallery Row,” specializing in 20th century master prints by artists including Chagall, Picasso, Miro and Matisse.  Later, she introduced new names like Albers and Vasarely, her good friend Andy Warhol, and stars of the emerging California Movement like Joe Goode, Ed Ruscha, Sam Francis, Laddie John Dill and Robert Graham to an ever-growing clientele.  In 1980, Barbara DeVorzon was invited to move her eponymous gallery to the Pacific Design Center;  its corner Melrose entrance  encouraged visitors to walk through her space as an introduction to the Center.  This visibility brought new collectors and opportunities.  DeVorzon formed alliances with leading designers of homes, television and film sets, and architects.  Major corporations including Xerox, Cyprus Mines, Avery International, Getty Oil, Bank of America and Continental Telephone commissioned her  to acquire and curate collections for their headquarters and public spaces.  The late Baron Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza and his Baroness Carmen (“Tita”) Thyssen-Bornemisza, whose museum in Madrid houses a great portion of their personal  treasures, also used DeVorzon as their West Coast art consultant.
